The Season of Advent

  The season of Advent starts four Sundays before Christmas. Advent is an important season in the church calendar, much like Lent, Easter, Epiphany, and Pentecost. This year Advent commenced on Sunday November 27 th and ends on Christmas Eve December 24 th . Advent comes from the Latin word “adventus,” which means “arrival. The Advent S eason is all about reflecting on how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ’s birth in the world as it is today. While Advent is certainly a time of celebration and anticipation of Christ’s birth, it is more than that. In this period of Advent, the aspect of Christmas can be fully recognized and appreciated, and in the light of Christmas that the Christian life is well acknowledged . Ghanaian Hospitality Culture

I am currently in the UK. Liverpool, to be precise. I am enjoying the hospitality here which I find very beautiful. I do not lose sight of this wonderful opportunity Tsedaqah and its trustees has given me to be here in Liverpool. Their wonderful efforts are really appreciated by me and my family. One thing I have realized here in the UK, which is common amongst the people, is that they welcome you with tea or coffee - whether you visit the office or the home. The people of Liverpool are very welcoming, friendly, and kind which is making my stay here very exciting. I am looking forward to more interesting and beautiful moments here in Liverpool. Hospitality is a fine gesture which the Holy Bible approves of and encourages to be practised among ourselves. It even confers blessing on the host.
